The UK Border Agency announced yesterday that offshore Tier 1 (General) Visa applications will be no longer accepted from 00:01 on 23 Dec 2010 and there will be a limit on Tier 2 (General) Visas. More immigration is needed by Australia's mining industry due to a lack of skilled workers in Australia. It is very important for the industry to have more skilled immigration, since these migrants will support the planned $140 billion in mining-related projects located mostly in the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
