Skilled State Sponsored Visa (Subclass 176)

Skilled Sponsored visa is best alternative who do not meet the pass mark for the Skilled Independent visa. This visa allows you to stay permanently in Australia however you need to be sponsored by eligible State or territory government. It is also know as State or Territory Sponsored visa (Previously known as STNI).

General Information

This visa allows you to live & work in Australia on permanent basis if you have good English language skills and qualification in an occupation list demand in the state or territory sponsoring you.

A successful applicant has an obligation to remain in the nominating state for a period of two years.

Who is this visa for?

This visa is for you (or your partner) if, satisfy the following:

Are under 50 years of Age
Have good command over English
Have degree or diploma
Have work experience that meets the Australian labour shortage list know as Skilled Occupation list (SOL)
Meets the pass mark of the Skilled State Sponsored Visa (65 points)
Are sponsored by eligible State or territory government (eligible to receive 5 bonus points)

What does this visa let me do?

This visa allows you and any secondary applicants (Spouse, kids & dependent relatives) included in your visa application to live as permanent residents in Australia.

Australian permanent residents can:

Live and work in Australia on a permanent basis with an obligation to remain in nominating state or territory for first two years.
Study in Australia at school or university
Receive subsidised healthcare
Access certain social security payments
Be eligible for Australian citizenship
Sponsor relatives for permanent residence
